Are Videos the Future of Marketing?

With advertising and marketing, it’s always important to do what's best for your business. Still, it’s also essential to keep up with trends and new platforms for promoting your business and services. VR and videos have been the current of most marketing campaigns and social media content.

The bulk of trends across platforms jumps from simple images to videos with the main focus on content support. Instagram, Meta, and most other social media platforms have made videos, VR, and stories their main focus, leaving images on the backburner. This doesn’t mean images aren’t still important, but they just don’t seem to be the main focus anymore. So if you’re going to move forward with your business by utilizing videos for your social media, you’ll need to get savvy in editing your videos to make the most of your content.

There are a number of editing apps and software out there. Not all are created equally, and not all serve the same purpose and functionality. From app to app, you’ll find that some are made just for simple trimming and filtering, while others are full-service apps hosting a bunch of features that might seem excessive to users who don’t focus mainly on video creation.

Some of the best options right now on the market are standard names in editing and some are newer names to see. First and foremost for video editing and for animation, the best choice is, unsurprisingly, Adobe. Adobe Premiere Rush and Adobe Spark each offer strong platforms with dozens of tools that allow one to go above and beyond with crafting and editing your content to make the strongest work possible. Adobe product apps offer cross-platforming and multi-track functionality, as well as 4K support and great export options, including YouTube exporting. Adobe’s apps are strongest in functionality compared to their competition. The downside is the subscription fee, as you need to have an Adobe account to use the apps they put out.

For those who utilize GoPro for their videos, the best editor is GoPro’s own software Quik. This works much like Adobe’s products in function, but its greatest downfall is that it isn’t universal across all phones. If you’re looking beyond Adobe and Quik, KineMaster is likely your third-best option. With similar features and a lot of cross-functionality, its only drawback is that the free version is watermarked.

If you’re looking more for animation options and Adobe isn’t for you, Procreate offers animation options but is locked to only working for iOS. In some cases, the simplest option is sometimes just a slideshow. Using Canva or Google slides allows you to make great slideshows for simpler video content. It might not always be the flashiest or most advanced, but it does the job if you need an easier video option using photos you already have available.

Other options for video content include VR and video podcasting. Photo Sphere VR is one of the few VR options that are cross-platform and work for creating content with VR. It utilizes Google functions to aid in making VR images. Outside of that, longer videos such as video podcasts might be what's best for your business. They allow you to talk at length about your products, services, skills, and knowledge in your field. This timeframe can assure those listening that you’re a good fit in the market or industry. Shooting podcasts, however, does require a fair amount of editing equipment, experience, and know-how. Additionally, it can also require a lot of time, which many don’t always have on top of their other business work and dealings. Luckily, Marketing Juice offers a Video Podcasting service that can help clients make this important content while being able to focus their attention elsewhere outside of the recording times.
